Article 46 – Marriage! The Homosexual Attack

The Catholic Church, Marriage and Homosexual Inclination

This week I want to recommend a book to everyone who wants to have a clear understanding of what is going on, not just in the world, but in the Church as well. This book is not a pleasant read. In fact many chapters contain very unpleasant and sometimes disgusting information. It is not a book that I would let children near. It is not a book for those with weak stomachs. The book is called “Making Gay OK” with a subtitle “How Rationalizing Homosexual Behaviour is Changing Everything” and it is by American author Robert R. Reilly.

The book is particularly relevant in light of a comment from the last issue of this paper, where Vatican journalist Edward Pentin quoted a well informed source who told him, “We all thought this was about divorce and remarriage. It’s not, it’s about gays”

History of the Homosexual Movement

This book details the history of the homosexual movement in America and shows, step by step, how they realised their dream of getting same-sex marriage legalised thereby giving them an access to children which they would not otherwise have had. The book approaches its subject matter from a philosophical and not a religious standpoint.

In order for someone to willingly do something that is evil, they must first of all rationalise the deed and pretend to themselves that in this case, the deed is either good or not so bad as to warrant refraining from it. But in a society, others will recognise the deed as evil. So, if one wants to continue doing this evil, one must convince society to accept the rationalisation otherwise the lie cannot continue.

Revolutions Begin for Personal Reasons

Reilly writes “In the Politics Aristotle wrote, “Men start revolutionary changes for reasons connected with their private lives.” This is also true when revolutionary changes are cultural. What might these ‘private’ reasons be, and why do they become public in the form of revolutionary changes? The answer to these questions lies in the intimate psychology of moral failure. For any individual, moral failure is hard to live with because of the rebuke of conscience. Habitual moral failure, what used to be called vice, can be tolerated only by creating a rationalization to justify it”

The Rationalisation of Abortion

He then goes on to give the example of abortion. “Abortion is the ultimate in the larger rationalization of the sexual revolution (of which the homosexual cause is part): if sex is only a form of amusement or self-realization (as it must be when divorced from the moral order), why should the generation of a child stand in the way of it or penalize its fulfilment? The life of the child is a physical and moral rebuke to this proposition. But the child is too weak to overcome the power of the rationalization. The virtual reality of the rationalization is stronger that the actual reality of the child. The child succumbs to the rationalization and is killed in a new ‘sacrament’. With more than fifty-five million abortions performed since 1973 (USA), the investment in the denial of the evil of abortion and in the establishment of the alternative reality that allows it has become tremendous.”

The Pretense that Sodomy is Normal

The homosexual movement seeks to pretend that sodomy is a normal and natural expression of sexuality, because these homosexuals are not prepared to live chaste lives in accordance with the natural order. If at first their ideas cause revulsion in the general populace, they will switch tactic to claim victimhood. Thus homosexuals are victims of diseases such as AIDS, and they pretend that the spread of the disease has nothing to do with their behaviour, because after all, the behaviour is just one natural and normal form of expressing sexuality. Those homosexuals who die of AIDS become martyrs to the cause.

But as stated above, for the rationalization to work, it needs the complicity of the whole culture. Dissent cannot be tolerated. Here’s Reilly again.

Dissent Will not be Tolerated, it will be Crushed

“The self-hatred, anger, and guilt that a person possessed of a functioning conscience would normally feel from doing wrong are redirected by the rationalization and projected upon society as a whole (if the society is healthy) or upon those in society who do not accept the rationalization. These latter are labelled homophobes, though it is they who become the objects of hatred. They are blamed for the misfortunes in homosexual life, which are no longer ascribable to the behaviour that produces them, but to those who do not accept the behaviour as moral, thus discomfiting its practitioners.”

Those who do not accept will be Coerced

“Coercion is the solution to this dilemma. Those who do not accept homosexual behaviour as normative must be legally forced to embrace the rationalization or be silent in the face of it. In the same way we once learned of the inherent goodness of married life, we must now be taught – and compelled to accept – the ‘new morality’ of homosexuality. The instruments of coercion are first cultural and then political. The homosexual campaign marches through the institutions of society – the press, the entertainment media, medical associations, religious bodies and the clergy, civic societies, businesses and corporate executives, leaders in the arts, educational institutions, and finally the military – transforming them one by one to its cause. After the long march, it is ready for the political assault – to gain the levers of government through either the courts or legislatures to enforce compliance.”

The Homosexual Campaign in Ireland

This campaign has been very successful here in Ireland, with even prominent Catholics accepting the rationalisation of sodomy. Several prominent Catholics, clergy amongst them, publicly endorsed civil partnership rights for active homosexuals in the recent referendum campaign. In our parish newsletter from the week before the referendum, one of the concerns expressed by the Irish bishops was highlighted. “What will we be expected to teach children in school about marriage?”

The Catholic Schools are already Indoctrinating children with Homosexual Propaganda

I sadly wondered at how our bishops could be so out of touch with what has been happening in the schools in this country for years, and right under their noses. This point was highlighted for me in the week after the referendum. I met a woman who I had not seen for several years, who lives in one of the small rural towns within ten miles of where I live. She told me that her nine year old daughter was delighted with the result of the referendum as a result of what she had been taught in school. This girl attends a Catholic primary school, in a small country town, here in the north west of Ireland.

Children’s Innocence will not be Spared

Robert Reilly again, “It is a measure of the depravity of the homosexual movement that it will not spare the innocence of children in the spread of its rationalization, which must embrace everyone at every age, regardless of cost. Innocence cannot be left to stand in the way. As shocking as some of the classroom material may be, it is all part of the inexorable logic of the situation playing itself out. This is what must happen if homosexual acts are prescribed as moral goods. With candor and logic, Daniel Villarreal wrote: “We want educators to teach future generations of children to accept queer sexuality. In fact, our very future depends on it…. Why would we push anti-bullying programs or social studies classes that teach kids about the historical contributions of famous queers unless we wanted to deliberately educate children to accept queer sexuality as normal?… I and a lot of other people want to indoctrinate, recruit, teach and expose children to queer sexuality AND THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT” (emphasis in the original)”
